Embracing God's Promise of Abundance When Hardship Endures
Telling My Family First
by Jenny on June 24th, 2015

"But Jesus said, 'No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful He has been.'" Mark 5:19

This might be the shortest blog post I've ever written. While I work to find my new normal with our latest addition . . . 'tis the season I'm in. But God allowed me a bit of time with Him today, and during that time I read the story of a demon-possessed man in Mark 5.

After a miraculous healing the no-longer-demon-possessed man begs Jesus to go with Him. But Jesus said, "No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful He has been."

Many times I beg God, "allow me to go with You, to write for You, to speak for You, to teach others about You." But for now it seems God's instructions to me are the same as His instructions to that of the man He healed.

"Go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful He has been."

Maybe God will allow me to return to the nations one day. But for now let me first be sure to tell my children about all God has done for me.

Jenny--your thoughts have been my thoughts since 1977 when the Lord in His great mercies saved a wretch like me! And I could not wait to share the good news with my families! It was not just my children but all of the extended family! As you can imagine all were not receptive--because as I grew in the Lord & the scriptures the Spirit showed me that the hearing ear is a gift of the Spirit & the confirmation of the heart is a God thing.Your children will call you blessed in the gates as you have done and are doing a wonderful job as a spiritual Mother to them. Please share your gifts and talents with the other family members (SIL & BIL's)
Jackie's heart is still burdened with the loss of his big brother! He tears up just talking about him, please have the girls pray for his broken heart!

Crossing Your Jordan

I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling, Bible-teaching mom of six, and wife to my college sweetheart. I believe everyone can live a life of abundance through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and radical obedience to His Word.

Do you have a relationship with God through Christ? If not, I would consider it pure joy to tell you about God, why you need Him, and how to be reconciled to Him through Christ.

If you know Christ as your Savior, do you know how to follow Him as Lord? If, like me, life's challenges have caused you to question whether you truly want to follow God's plan for you, or you simply don't know how to recognize God's ways due to a lack of biblical literacy, I would love to teach you what I've come to know about God through His Word.

Regardless of who you are (or aren't) or what you have (or haven't) done, I invite you to find a comfy spot, grab a cup of coffee and a Bible, and enter your contact information below.
