Embracing God's Promise of Abundance When Hardship Endures
The Word Gives Life
by Jenny on September 28th, 2015

"The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone." John 1:4

Tonight I find myself with a few extra minutes. The kids are in bed. The dishes are done. Laundry is . . . well, as caught up as it can be in a home in which seven people live and work.

What to do with the time between plopping my weary self onto the couch and altogether collapsing into bed?

I grab my Bible.

Not because I am righteous. One day with me in my home will remove any thoughts thereof.

I grab the Word because it gives life. And oh, how I need the kind of life He gives.

Ten years ago death threatened to consume my life. It was then that I first turned to the Word. Twenty-eight years into life before I learned to feast daily on the Bread of Life.

Ten years later I still turn to the Word. I crave the Word and the hope He brings to my life.

The Word is a fresh, bubbling spring, and those who drink the Living Water will never thirst again. (John 4:14)

The Word nourishes our soul, and those who consume the Bread of Life will never hunger again. (John 6:35)

The Word gives us rest. (Matthew 11:28)

The Word gives us hope. (Psalm 130:5)

The Word gives us life. (John 1:4)

Got a few minutes?

Turn to the Word. It doesn't matter what page.

Let His life breathe life into yours.

Crossing Your Jordan

I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling, Bible-teaching mom of six, and wife to my college sweetheart. I believe everyone can live a life of abundance through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and radical obedience to His Word.

Do you have a relationship with God through Christ? If not, I would consider it pure joy to tell you about God, why you need Him, and how to be reconciled to Him through Christ.

If you know Christ as your Savior, do you know how to follow Him as Lord? If, like me, life's challenges have caused you to question whether you truly want to follow God's plan for you, or you simply don't know how to recognize God's ways due to a lack of biblical literacy, I would love to teach you what I've come to know about God through His Word.

Regardless of who you are (or aren't) or what you have (or haven't) done, I invite you to find a comfy spot, grab a cup of coffee and a Bible, and enter your contact information below.
